Residents in Flushing, New York have some new books about Chinese art to read, thanks to a donation to the Flushing Library by China Guardian on Feb 27.

The 70 books, which contain details on each item, such as images, basic information and their estimated value, were provided to help the locals understand Chinese art and the art market.

“This year marks the 20th anniversary of China Guardian, one of the oldest art auction houses in China. We respect what we do and what we sell. We are more than an auction house; we hope to help preserve art and spread ideas about art through our work. I am convinced that in the library, the art in the catalogues will be exposed to more readers and collectors,” said Wang Yannan, President and Director of China Guardian.

The company also donated 1,000 dollars in cash to the library.

The Flushing library is the third American cultural institute to collect catalogues from China Guardian, after the Library of Congress and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
